A sincere “thank you” to The Honorable John S. Carlin, Law Week Chair, his judicial assistant Joanne Atkins, the Law Week committee and everyone else who helped contribute to such a successful and informative Law Week. It is vitally important that we celebrate the rule of law and educate the general public about the positive impact that the legal system has had and can have in their lives. I commend everyone who participated in Law in the Mall, served as a School Speaker, donated blood, hosted a student shadow and attended the phenomenal Law Week Awards Luncheon.

As you know, there will be no regular June membership meeting of the Lee County Bar Association. Instead, on June 27^th we will board the Murder Mystery Dinner Train for what we hope will be a thrilling evening of murder, mystery and fine dining. We will also honor and celebrate the retirement of the Honorable Hugh E. Starnes. This event is sold out; however, if you would like to put your name on the “wait list,” please e-mail info@leebar.org.

As we look ahead to this summer, we will again honor and celebrate the retirement of another distinguished jurist, the Honorable Donald E. Pellecchia, at our July membership meeting to be held July 11^th at The Edison (formerly Syl’s). I hope that you can join us. Finally, mark you calendars for August 15^th when we will honor the judges of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit on our Third Annual Riverboat Dinner Cruise. There is a flyer included in this newsletter with all the details.
